Minismith Roulette 10- Havoc Protocol Figures
The rolls for what to paint this time got us these minis from the Havoc Protocol Kickstarter back in 2013 (?!?!). They're pretty cool but only three have been painted so far- the Founders back in 2013 and the hacker girl in 2015 with a more recent touchup.
The faded red/dark pink of the armor is just something I thought might look interesting for this generic sci-fi team of troopers and specialists. I started out with the idea and now finally have gotten back to it with a little more added to the original plan. I think they turned out okay, but the next batch may lead to some subtle changes to the two troopers, at least (markings or something?). I had forgotten why they had blue areas on the bases behind them until I looked at the hacker again and remembered it was supposed to represent their teleportation effect that they just stepped out of.
The female trooper was the one I decided to try the light grey armor on first. It looked good enough paired with the dark pink that had already been painted onto the undersuit.
The male trooper got the same treatment with just a bit more surface to cover.
Moving on to the spy girl, I made her match the hacker girl more closely than the troopers. But again, she had been partially painted for years, so it was mainly just touching things up and changing a few areas to match my modern sensibilities. I really like how her hair came out.
And now there are 4 members of the team with a few Troopers and the pilot girl left to paint up.
Above we've got the standard comparison minis- Victoria Miniatures Highlander, GW Primaris Marine, and Raging Heroes Jailbird. Below we have some other 28mm figures with these relatively recently finished figures (2 of which were sculpted by the same sculptor) from the Security Team.
