Anizzu, Space Elf Pirate

Ive said it before and I'll say it agian, I really like Werner Klocke sculpted miniatures. Some of my favorite female minis are from the freebooter's Fate line of miniatures, a game I will probably never play, but those minis! This peg-legged pirate girl needed to be converted for scifi action to join the female Space Elf Outcast warband.

The figure is "Curly Ann" from Freebooter miniatures. The only real conversion work was adding a little sleeve to the tip of her musket, adding a fancy bit of Eldar plastic as a sight or something, and a couple of plastic grenades to her belt. I guess the fancy sci-fi base is also part of the conversion.

I knew I wanted her to be one of the blue-skinned Space Elves from the start. Her hair was another thing I had a pretty good idea of some pinks and purples- I love that hair. Her facepaint was a happy little accident when I was trying to do some eye makeup. A little slip of the brush and I liked what was going on so I filled it out a bit more. Her skin turned out okay, it's growing on me.

The coat started out as a typical light leathery color but it needed something to make it a little different. So I started to paint a few lines of green scaliness to break up the light brown. I didn't like it so I made a big patch of the scaliness, maybe it's from some space dragon or just a regular big lizard-thing. I like the larger area much better.

And here we have the growing Space Elf Chick Outcast Warband (I need to come up with a shorter name for them).

  1. Werner does make some really good female sculpts and this one is no different. Love the bright colours you went with, really adds to the ragtag "pirate" vibe.
