Tamiya Barrels and Gas Cans

I came across a box of of barrels and gas cans from Tamiya at a local model shop. Sure, they're 1/35 scale but barrels and such can be lots of different sizes.  So I picked up the box for $6 and wish there would have been more of them since I built them.

This 50mm base got a cut-down piece of an old gift card to give the base a bit more interest. I toyed with the idea of painting everything fancy and new. But I remembered that I like painting rusty dirty stuff, so the fancy colors were only a single light coat before my usual mix of rusty oranges and browns.

The second base got a small length of sprue as a curb. It's a neat trick I should use more often to get rid of all the empty sprues I haven't thrown away yet.

To help show that these barrels and cans fit fine with various 28mm minis we've got the Primaris Marine and not-Chiana, above, and the Diehard Miniatures punch-bot and a sniper, below.

There are 2 barrels and 9  cans left to be used. I'm not sure if I'll wait until I can get another box or go ahead and do something different for another base full of stuff.
