Sir Jordan of Hardcastle and His Men
Built from the Halfling Militia and Foot Serjeants kits by Wargames Atlantic, the first few minis for a generic fantasy warband are painted. It was around the start of the year when I became interested in the Guards of Traitor's Toll game, or at least the idea of the game and the wonderful miniatures I'd seen for it. Soon after that, I got a Halfling militia sprue and then a box of the Foot Serjeants and the Villagers box. These guys were all built before I put a pause on building miniatures to focus more on getting some stuff painted.
First we have the human guy, Rodger. I have most of a box to build similar fantasy/medieval guys (as well as using some for grimdark sci-fi/Trench Crusade figures).
Then we have Keddle, a polearm armed Halfling with an attitude problem. He also got a cast iron skillet for his belt from the Villagers box, I think.
Next is Sir Jordan of Hardcastle himself. I used a couple of the Halfling bodies on the sprue to do a couple of grimdark far future space Halflings. I decided a leader type was needed and it seemed like a fun idea to have a Halfling knight. His shield almost got some kind of animal picture, but I like to practice checkerboard patterns, so that's what he got.
Finally, the first of the Halflings to be built, Eryk. There was an arm that looked like it could have something on it. I went to the Frostgrave Wizard sprues to look at the familiar options. I had Guards of Traitor's Toll on my mind and the idea of a mouse as an informant was funny, so that's we got. Maybe Eryk has some magical power or can talk to animals. I think he's my favorite of this batch of figures

Even though these guys (and the plans in the back of my head for other builds) were inspired by Traitor's Toll, I don't have that game. I may get it, or I might se some free rules, or I might just build a bunch of stuff for the fun of building and painting.
