Parasaul- Techno-Ogryn - the Circuit Mashyne Grows

The Techno-Ogryn (technogryn?), Parasaul, is finished and ready to join Honeysuckle's techno-fae inspired warband, the Circuit Mashyne.

Parasaul started out as one of a set of ogres or trolls from one of the Reaper Bones Kickstarters. I had thought about converting one or more into a sci-fi setting. Those plans and gathering of materials had gone on for years before I finally started the work on this one. His right hand originally had a big club or something resting on his shoulder as a separate piece. I had a few big guns and cybernetic claws that were all possibilities to help sci-fi him up a bit.

It was decided that a big cyber claw arm thing from an old Battleball (sci-fi football boardgame with miniatures) figure should be the arm. There isn't a lot of detail, so I added a barrel in the center and there's some detail PLUS he's got some ranged attack now (aside from throwing large chunks of debris). TO help power his big mechanical laser-claw, he needed some sort of energy pack. I got some Mechanicus bit (I think it's supposed to be some kind of plasma gun or something) and mounted on his back with a couple of cables coming out. 

Then there's his tech-hat. I love the look of these greek shields with a couple little things glues on to serve as hats, they seem to give the mini a cyberpunk feel. I put a hole in place of his left eye so he could get a cyber implant that was just a piece of brass pin. The only other thing was to replace some of the skulls he had on his belt that were not very detailed. One of the skulls got to be a fancy Necron skull because I somehow have a smattering of Necron bitz.

I wanted his skin to be darker grey. This turned into a nice blueish-grey that I think came out pretty good.

The hat got a splotchy orange center to look beat up and sort of rusty. For the "brim" I wanted something unexpected so I used a light green and made it look a bit scratchy too.

The base is one of the last few UV Resin base toppers I made. They're a little brittle on the edges so I've switched over to using greenstuff in the simple molds I've made. I used some olde Ral Partha Steel and a little random silver drybrush over the top. The rust was my usual mix of a Ral Partha brick red I mixed up a long time ago with a lighter orange called "Autumn Gold." On top of that, I used a bit of pigment powder to add to the rustyness.

The current state of the Circuit Mashyne underhive/fae themed warband is simply Honeysuckle (her servoskulls, too) and Parasaul. I think they fit together. And below we have some other size comparison pics.
