A New Drudge, Adama
I've wanted to make another 'stooped over techno-guy with some big machinery on his back' ever since I made the first one, Djane the Snail, over a year ago. Actually, I'd like to make even more. When I came across the olde Zoids bit I had been looking for, Adama went into production.
Adama's head body and legs come from the very old Warhammer Zombies plastic kit. I thought the beard head would be an interesting change to the recent servitor-types I've been building. I used a bit of plastic rod for the optical implant and a length of wire I use for pinning parts for the antenna on his head.
The right arm with spear came from an Aztec plastic kit (from Perry Miniatures?) and the left cyber arm is from the incredibly useful Stargrave Automatons kit. His big tank thing has various wires for the cabling, a scale model bomb on the right side, and a metal hammer bit from the bits box for the left side. The base is a nice resin one that I got from Elrik's Hobbies at a past Adepticon.
The first part that was painted was the big tank thing. It was a joy to weather the heck out of it with washes and then stippling a bunch to get the worn look.
I've been trying to figure out what to call this style of figure. I thought maybe stevedore, or "stevitor" to far-future it, but finally settled on "drudge" because of how well it seems to fit. There will be at least one more built eventually. I have lots of big bits that would be fun for this sort of figure. Here's Adama with the original drudge, Djane.
Above we have Adama with a couple of Servitor types. Below, we've got a comparison with the usual Jailbird and Primaris. Below that, Adama is with part of the Stoltimoinas & Pytzee crew.
