Tech Bazaar 18 - Defensive Weapon Platforms

 

From the Battlefield in a Box terrain sets come these two not quite Star Wars Hoth Rebel weapons platforms. They originally came in mostly grey and I decided they needed some more color here and there to better fit in with the Tech Bazaar (and even elsewhere).

The Dish Lasr Cannon thing was pretty plain before I started adding color here and there. The lines inside the dish were the first touch-up that really got both of these started. I tried to keep the rest of the main body pretty simple with just a little color here and there to make it more interesting.

The Turret is something I had the olde Fisher Price playset of back in the previous century. This version is not based on the original coloring. I wanted tit to look a bit like it borrowed parts from here and there to refurbish it for use at teh Tech Bazaar.

The turret came as a separate part but I didn't want to have it loose in the hole so MAGNETS! There was a larger magnet for the center of the turret and two smaller ones for along the lip to keep it in a 'forward' position, but they actually seem to help keep it stable when turning the turret further side to side.
