Scholar of the Cogs

 

A lot of the early Reaper Bones miniatures were not very detailed. Some of those have been an unexpected source of interesting conversions into sci-fi minis. This wizard was a good candidate- minimal sculpted details and an interesting pose. Thus the Scholar of Cogs, a wandering techno-wizard, was born.

I added a couple of 3dprinted cog bits to the top of his staff (because he had to be some kind of techno-guy and cogs are an easy shorthand for that). I drilled into his sleeves to insert some guitar string mechadendrites. I also mercilessly drilled into his face to insert as many optical stalks as I could manage- three fit easiest and looked cool enough.

I decided his cloak borders needed some hazard-stripe design and eventually went with some black for the hood and sleeves but red for the bottom. He was a pretty quick conversion and paintjob that turned out pretty okay to be a random techno-wizard for various settings.

Below we've got a lineup with the Victoria Miniatures Trooper, GW Primaris Marine, a Raging Heroes  Jailbird, and the Wandering Techpriest (Aberrant conversion).
