Kandriz Technical Group

Techpriest Kandriz for my not-Adeptus Mechanicus warband was finished in December 2022. Now most, if not all, of his retinue is finished.

First let's look at Kandriz's little Skrunt minions. They're the latest stripped old Warzone Children of Ilian with heads from an Adeptus Mechanicus kit. These were actually the last of the Kandriz Group to be finished painting.

The guy above is Monno and he's got a big mechanical arm to pick up heavy stuff. Next is Mocco  who is more of a technical guy with his big wrench and the little toolkit on his belt.

The final Skrunt is Mozzo. He has a special component that Kandriz is interested in- it may also be a weapon of some kind.

This generic robot is simply a metal Mage Knight figure that I thought would work well in a not-Mechanicus setting. I think it came with a sword in one hand but the blade was removed so it's not specifically for combat. I attached the right arm back like that to give it more of a lumbering look.

This big guy is a rebased and repainted AT-43 Cog miniature- with a headswap from a Necromunda Ambot and some additional bits on his back. I glued the joints so he will hopefully not move around (these plastic pre-painted figures could move their arms and hips sometimes) . The AT-43 minis were some cool sci-fi figures that I picked up pretty cheap with the intention to repaint (this is only the second or third I've repainted). He will provide a little heavy support for the Kandriz Group as a robot thing with a big gun.

Next we have Torcom, a young Data Adept based on an old Necromunda Van Saar Juve with some modifications. I had him almost finished painting for a couple decades when I realized he would be great for a not-Mechanicus conversion. So he was stripped of paint then I chopped off his head and left hand. I used a Beyond the Gates of Antares Freeborn Domari plastic head because it just looked great. I gave him an open plastic hand from somewhere and gave it a resin printed scroll. A plastic Tech backpack finished off the conversion.

Then comes a simple headswap on an Iron Kingdoms mini to make him a young Techpriest. His base got a little part of a sim card holder to look technological because I really wanted to use it on a base when this guy was ready to be based up. Thesis is Kandriz's Apprentice who is almost ready to go out on his own in search of buried ancient tech.

And finally we get to some better pics of Kandriz, the leader of this interesting little group of techno explorers. He's an unodified techno-guy from the Astropolis Kickstarter who looked just right to be a grizzled old tech-prospector.
