Troopers of St Karina- Feudal Imperial Guard or Trench Crusade
These two troopers were kitbashed with parts from several Wargames Atlantic kits (Foot Serjeants, Villagers, Death Fields Accessories, and more). The thought was to make a couple of troopers with a Trench Crusade and generic techno-feudal far-future look (they're kind of similar looks). The results were these two grunts.
These were painted together in a quick and dirty style with a couple different washes mixed together and then some highlights to finish them up. I wanted their "uniform" to be different from colors I've used in the past (I don't think I've done troopers with the desaturated violet I used on them). There was a moment that I considered doing some stripes or quarters on their tunics. In the end it was decided to keep them pretty simple.
This guy got a polearm, because on whichever grimdark battlefield you find yourself a polearm is pretty useful. Of course, his fancy helmet got some rust areas because I like to do rusty patches.
This other guy got a bald head from the Villagers set. His beard was impressive along with his bad head, it gives him a little character.
So who the heck is St Karina? Maybe she's an Inquisitrix (I've got a few potential minis to fill that role) who needs to have a retinue. Or, for Trench Crusade, she's some vague Saint who inspired a militant order of monks. We shall see when I transition into another build-heavy phase.
