Cyborg Gunslinger
This Cyborg Gunslinger was inspired by a very cool piece of art by David Diez. I knew I had to kitbash something similar because I knew I had all the pieces I needed to make it. Plus it's a cool pose.
The legs are from a 40K Adeptus Mechanicus Skittari kit, as well as the pistol arm. The head and right arm are from the Stargrave Automatons kit. The armor panels on the right leg were ill-defined because the Skittari have long trenchcoats that cover that area. I had to do a little sculpting, but it didn't turn out very good.
I didn't want to match the colors from the inspiration art piece, but they did help inspire it. I didn't start out to not use any metallic paints, that's just how the painting went. I think it turned out pretty good on te pistol especially.
I didn't realize until he was done that the red part of his head sort of looks like a brain. That was not the intent, but it looks kinda cool now that I see it that way. I think the scratchy "v" on his shoulderpad has been used on some previous miniature, but I don't recall what it was. I may be secretly building up a warband that I'm not even aware of.
Because of his wide stance, I decided to use one of the 28mm Star Wars Legion fancy bases for him. Now that he's done, I think he was a good use of building and painting time. He fit's in with a lot of previously painted minis for various sci-fi gaming options.
