Vengeance of St. Rosetta of the Sundered Shrine - Trench Crusade

Victoria Miniatures' scrapper deals are a fun grab bag of exciting opportunities for conversions. Sure the bits are often a little imperfect, but part of the fun (for me) is cleaning up the imperfections and making them work. What can I make from these disparate pieces? This time it's some guys for Trench Crusade and/or INQ28. I came up with the group's name "The Vengeance of Saint Rosetta of the Sundered Shrine." Who is St Rosetta? How was the shrine sundered? I have no clue, but the idea came to me that this group of Trench Pilgrims (or maybe they're something else) should be called that.

Presented in the order they were built.

Using an Eisenkern body on Victoria legs is nothing new for me, so this first guy was happily started. I wanted to make a guy with a spear and a gun slung on his back- the spear is from a Mummy Warrior by Crocodile Games and the gun came from one of the Raging Heroes figures. His left arm is from the Frostgrave Cultists kit and the right arm is an Eisenkern piece. This guy is likely the leader, grizzled with a holy spear and a horribly scarred face.

Next we've got the squire or something. I used some of the female Desert Warrior legs from Victoria and another Eisenkern body. The arms are really big compared to the legs, but I wanted that- brother Thomas has been ringing the bell a lot. The head is a female pith helmet also from Victoria, the face isn't overtly female, so it could be our youngster. I snipped the end of the rifle to make it look less 40K, I need to remember to do that next time I use one of the Victoria rifles.

Then I got a little more focused on a theme. I decided to use some of the Victoria trenchcoat legs with various bodies and weapon choices. This next guy got a pair of arms I've been wanting to use from the Frostgrave Cultists kit. So he needed a rifle slung on his back, it's a different design from Victoria with a thin strip of masking tape coated with superglue for the strap (as with the leader above). I went into my Eldar bits box and came across a mound of old High Elf heads that seemed like a great match for a variation on the tall helmets of the Trench Pilgrims. Some of the fancy detail was shaved off. I almost forgot about his back- His body is one of the Penal Troopers with torn fabric and wounds. It seemed appropriate.

This fellow's rifle was a happy find. I thought "ooh, this is a little more realistic than some of the other Victoria weapons" but later I realized it wasn't from Victoria, I don't know where it came from and I am sad it's one of a kind. His arms were mismatched because I wanted to wrap some "barbed wire" around one to show he's a penitent. It's just really thin wire, but it looks okay.

I was running a little low on Victoria scrapper arms and was unwilling to dip into my supply of pristine arms, so I decided to use some of the Eisenkern arms since I got the expansion pack from that Kickstarter- more armored arms than I will likely use to build Eisenkern Stormtroopers. They're great because they pair together nicely and you can choose a weapon to put in that will fit almost perfectly. His rifle is another of the Victoria alternate lasguns. The design looks close enough to a real rifle that I though it should be the default moving forward. I thought the knife on his back was a nice touch to make him more of an individual.

The final guy, so far, had a running forward set of legs that needed a screaming head. He's got another set of Eisenkern arms and some of their grenades too. I had been wondering what I would do with all those potato masher grenades, now they have purpose.

Six raggedy (possible) Trench Pilgrims done! Below we've got what could be a whole Trench Pilgrim warband ready to go...
