Derelict Spaceship Engines

 

Take 3 prescription bottles with their lids. Add some needle pen caps of various sizes along with sprue remnants. Throw in some thin plastic sheet strips and a bit of strapping tape and various other plastic bits. Use CDs for bases and a scratchy paintjob to give you some line-of-sight blocking terrain for sci-fi miniatures to scrabble about. 

This lone derelict engine got a AAA battery holder from a small flashlight on the mini-CD base. 

Here we see Olde Quinzell and Calamari using cover to advance towards the objective...

This full size CD base has a narrow pathway between the two derelict engines which makes for a nice backdrop for cool action shots. The different sizes give a nice unbalanced look to the base and offers multiple areas to snipe from.
