Sci-fi and Antique Background Boxes

Perhaps these two Background Boxes are complete, perhaps.

The Tech Bazaar themed box was basically done, but I was unsure if it should have a dark wash. I'm glad I did the wash, it looks a bit better.

I realized I "needed" a background that was low tech for non-sci fi miniatures. So I used another of the 7x4 wooden boxes from Dollar Tree.

I used a few MDF bases to extend the floor. Before I added texture paste, some precious shelf liner that looks like old paving stones was added (using mainly off-cuts of the ever-dwindling roll). There was thought of adding some columns but I decided there was not really enough room for the columns I have. A cut down chopstick and a couple of wooden blocks spiced up the corner.

The texture paste was my favorite mix of baking soda, scenic sand, watered down white glue (tacky glue), and a bit of matte medium. I decided the areas around the "tiles" needed another  coat of texture paste for it to look right.

Then tragedy struck, or I was done after a series of grey and brown drybrushing and a dark wash.

So what kind of box should I make next? I still have a few of these little boxes that are simply holding miniatures to be (or have been) painted.
