Trashbashed Escape Pod
A challenge from Brian Roe's Trash Bash International group to build an escape pod from trash prompted me to create this crashed escape pod.
The main body was an interesting-shaped salt shaker I got specifically to use in some future build. The challenge came a few days after the salt was used up, so it was meant to be. I added a few off-cuts of old giftcards to give the pod some simple panels.
Hazard stripes are always fun, so I did some areas of yellow and black and grey and red freehand. The main part of the pod was given a coat of texture paste (just some thinned glue mixed with baking soda) to give it some texture and help paint adhere to the smooth plastic. The paint is a purplish-blue colorshift that I think turned out pretty interesting over a darker blue undercoat.
The engine nozzles are various pen needle covers. They're not terribly exciting, just a dark grey with some metallic drybrushing, followed by a dark wash.
For a size comparison, the Wandering Techpriest and his Apprentice investigate the mysterious crashed escape pod.
