Tech Bazaar 06 - Small Platform and Stairs (plus a rebased touched up mini!)
Time for some elevation to be added to the sprawling Tech Bazaar project- let the platforms begin! Also some ragged stairs to get onto the platform and an updated 'Wandering Alexi' rebased from his original attempt at a sci-fi fancy base.
Wandering Alexi's original sci-fi base was not great. It was made from an offcut of plastic mesh. It's too thick and not weathered enough. So I yanked him off of that base and used one of my early attempts at UV Resin scenic bases (I think it was a copy of one of the Sedition Wars bases that didn't fully fill). I also gave him a little touch-up on his color scheme, the Herald of the Great Bakka, the Dragon Cosmic, needs to look a little spiffy...
These raggedy stairs were tossed together after the small platform and the double platform (in the process of painting right now) because there needed to be a way to easily get up there. It was meant to be a proof of concept that works as a junky set of stairs.
Here we've got a couple of Jailbirds showing the relative size of the stairs.
Finally we come to the small platform. It was constructed from some puzzle corkboard tiles that were chopped up. I then found some cool pieces of junk in my bits boxes to make the platform more high tech. The generator thingy is made from a single-use eyedrop tube, a part from inside a squirt bottle, and a hairtie. There's also some UV Resin as clear industrial waste oozing out of the to bit. I went with clear because I thought it was a little more disturbing than any kind of neon goo would be.
Here's the Wandering Techpriest and his Apprentice hanging around the platform.
And here we can see what the platform looks like with an assortment of tiny terrain bits and minis. There's already a double-sized platform that's being painted now but I've got plans for at least one more that may be 4 tiles altogether- that will either be crazy or awesome. Maybe both...
