Plundahr Reinforcements
A handful of 'Sons of Plundahr' troopers, some with Victoria Miniatures arms and AKs (so this is a BONUS for my Victoria Challenge) and a couple that were my early attempts with their original arms and metal AKs. The color scheme was inspired by the Convict Legionnaire's helmets, because they look a bit like the Cobra Crimson Guard from the olde GI Joe cartoon and action figures. Despite their wide stance, I really like these older figures.
Let's start with the two original attempts. These were assembled over a decade ago (maybe 15 years?! More?). I tried to rip them apart to make them match the newer design using Victoria arms to hold the rifles, but the glue job was too strong to get the arms off. I decided to go ahead and leave them as they were and paint them up to match the new design.
This one was the first I tried to get the backpack off of. It worked, so he got the similar style of pack that one of the new design has. The original arms are not great, and to reposition them there's a big gap that should've gotten filled, but the first two were really tests to see if the idea would work.
This guy was stubborn and I only got the bottom part of the pack removed. The gap was sealed up with a tiny piece of plasticard, it looks okay.
Next are the two regular troopers with Victoria arms and AKs. I like their poses and the addition of the left shoulder pad looks good compared to the original guys with no shoulder pad.
And finally, a fancy head from an olde WFB Empire kit. I thought it would look good and I think it turned out okay. He also got a fancy plasma gun.
Here we've got the original new design troopers and Plundahr himself with the new additions. These mercenaries were originally built just to add additional matching figures that would form a cohesive unit for whatever skirmish games they were needed. They're not the best paint jobs, but they're passable for the tabletop. I've got a few more bits that I can use to make some more Plundahr Troopers, we'll see when that happens.
