Honeysuckle, Techno-Crone
A few years ago, when I got the Wurmspat box from a Warhammer Underworlds demo event at GenCon, I decided that all three figures needed to be converted. I'm not against Nurgle miniatures, but I'm also not really a big fan of them. I've converted the guy with two axes and the little beastie on Fecula's base (okay, this little guy was just based up on his own). I don't have any specific plans for the last guy with the spear, but inspiration will strike when it does.
I knew Fecula needed to be turned into some sort of not-Mechanicus figure. The planning took place when I decided the stars were right to finally begin. I had thought about her backstory, somewhat, over the years. It was only a vague notion that she would be a techno-crone wandering the underhive or the outskirts of the Tech Bazaar imparting her ire or largess to those worthy of either. I wanted her to be more like a fairy-type character, capable of making a deal with a traveller that could go either way. And I wanted her to have a name sort of like "Honeysuckle' because it seemed appropriate. I finally decided to go with Honeysuckle (let's not discuss the outright abandoned 'Sumpsuckle' option) because it doesn't seem right, but it totally seems right. I also knew she had to collect servoskulls- maybe she's the reason for the various servoskull swarms I've been making the last couple years?

Guitar strings were used to give Honeysuckle some mechadendrites. Her head came from one of the extra Ghar Battesuits because it's such a pleasing design. Her back antenna came from some Mechanicus bit. There needed to be a hood covering the head and hump of the antenna, so I broke out the greenstuff and squished it around until it looked okay.
A surprising discovery that I made when I was at the GenCon demo was that the bases were all specific to each figure. They were not bad bases, but especially for a techno-crone, Fecula's base didn't fit what I wanted. I had a nice 40mm base with a greenstuff texture that fits much better with her planned theme.
The original top of the staff had a cool skull bell and some Nurgle symbols hanging off it. I wanted some kind of combination of natural and technological materials for the staff, so I grabbed part of one of the plastic support drones from Beyond the Gates of Antares for the 'scythe' part of her staff. The little 'bulbs' probably generate blasts of energy when needed.
Her main dress needed to be aqua blues because it just had to. The sculpted hood then needed to be yellow. At the front of the hood, I did a checkerboard pattern with a brush instead of my usual Micron pen. It came out fine, if a little abstract as it gets closer to the left side. She's a techno-fairy, it's got something to do with her powers.
Sure, Honeysuckle as a lone figure is pretty cool and an interesting twist on the fairy godmother concept but there was something more going on. There was another shocking revelation that I had secretly (even unbeknownst to myself!) been creating parts of a warband to go alongside Honeysuckle in the techno-fairy theme. It might have all started with Emberflax at the beginning of 2025. I then kitbashed 2 techno-dryads months apart. Then I cut up a big Reaper Bones ogre and made him a technogryn... My subconscious was subtly trying to tell me something. I've decided (with a little help- thanks Alex) that they shall be called the Circuit Mashyne and there are other additions in the building and painting phases.
