Wednesday Wizards - Wizard 1

I have a bunch of Bones miniatures, mainly from the first 4 Kickstarters. From those boatloads of soft (more recently less soft) plastic miniatures are a bunch of magic user types. I've been collecting them in a separate box with the grand plan of painting them all up at some point. Is there a larger plan behind painting all these Wizards? Will I try to use them to take over the realm? Probably not, but it would be nice to get them all painted just to have them ready for such a move.

I think these are all the Bones Wizards, there may be a few who are hiding somewhere. I also have some non-Bones Wizards that will gladly take part in this painting stunt. I plan to get at least 1 Wizard each Wednesday (at least finished on a Wednesday). Maybe it will only be for December of 2025-- maybe it will be an occasional thing when the panting muscles itch for it. We shall see.

This first Wizard was a quick and dirty paintjob. I tried to give some texture look to his robes, I may have partially succeeded in this. I wanted to use a limited amount of colors, so there was a lot of mixing that gave me color that was close to what I thought I wanted.

The magical stone on the top of his staff turned out pretty good. His little frog/toad familiar wasn't terrible detailed and I didn't take much time on it. I think he looks like a frog or toad well enough for our purposes.

I didn't have many non-scifi minis nearby to take a size comparison, but these two will do. We have a Hanging Skeleton from Cursed City and an Undead Knight from Iron Kingdoms/Warmachine, I think they help give a sense of how tall our first Wizard is.
