Temple Dragon

Another piece from the Reaper Bones Kickstarter mountain, this time a smaller dragon, the Temple Dragon.

As with most of the larger Bones minis, the bigger ones are easier to clean up of mold lines. This dragon is perched on a destroyed statue (I didn't realize it as not just a rocky pillar or something until after I started painting). I decided to help stabilize him by putting him on a larger round base and adding a few chunks of cork as rubble.

The painting was initially done with a little conical makeup sponge. I last used this technique on some terrain but decided it might be good on this beastie. I used progressively lighter yellows. Then a dark wash went into the details. Then a touchup on the wings with the sponge. Finally I went to brushes for the minor details.

I think this dragon came out pretty good. He's a good size for use with many different miniatures. Below is a sampling of various 28mm figures with Temple Dragon.
