Hive Scum/Chaos Cultists

This quartet of raggedy hive scummers came together on a whim. I was looking for some primed minis in a few different containers and saw the 3 Chaos Cultists in their partially painted state. I also saw the metal Hive Scum guy from the original Necromunda. I found the minis I was specifically searching for, but these 4 stayed in the back of my mind. A few days later, I went back to gather them and decided to paint them all together.

These three older plastic Chaos Cultists had been started with the intent of using a few of the same colors for each, but not in a regimented way.

The main colors I used were reflected on their rifles. The yellow, red, and teal came out good enough on each of them. I think I have another sprue of them that will eventually get some head swaps or something.

Their bases are each made a little more fancy with either greenstuff or UV resin base toppers. I had originally meant them to be dual use as Chaos Cultists and Hive Scum, because they look the part without being overtly Chaos worshippers (except the one guy with his chaos star scarification on his arm).

Then we have this olde metal guy with his original plasma pistol swapped out fro a big Warzone pistol thing. This was done in the late '90s/early '00s and the color choice on his skin was orange because I was trying to do something weird with him. Once he was stripped down, I primed him with a better primer than whatever I was using way back then and gave him a couple zenithal drybrush layers.

His tshirt was inspired by the Hive Scum Podcast logo, it's a shame most of the details of it are covered by his arms, but it turned out okay. The rest of his outfit was pretty subdued. His leather vest came out nice. For the boots, I wanted to make them green leather (ork-skin?) like I did on a few ancient Rogue Trader models back  in the day.

The Hive Scum guy's base wasthe original one he was built on. It didn't separate from the stripping process, so I decided to leave him on it and use some masking tape to cover the gaps in the slot. Then I took my homemade texture paste to give some texture to it. Since he's supposed to be in the Underhive, there needed to be some patches of rust. Not too bad for a nearly 30 year old miniature.
