Alien Crab Man

This Wrath of Kings Hadross Calith Reaper was intended to be a simple monster...that is until I realized he had a belt with pouches on it. It was then clear that he should be an alien sentient.

There was a struggle between orange and blue until I decided the skin could be blue and the more armored parts could be orange.

There were areas that were armor bits. The bone-like armor on the recent Wednesday Wizard inspired the colors for this guy's armor. I think it turned out okay.

Some dark brown/black washes helped bring out some of the details. It was pretty quick to get some highlights on him to finish up the paintjob.

I also thought that this guy might work nicely in the Beyond the Gates of Antares setting. Above, a couple of Freeborn miniatures. Below, there was a resemblance to the Ghar Battlesuit design that I didn't notice until I was well into painting the Crab guy. Interesting...
