Graveyard Project- Part 1 A Small Step
Another project that has been in the panning stages for a decade (?!?!) or more, the Graveyard. It started with some of the pieces from the first Reaper Bones Kickstarter. I thought that it would be cool to eventually make up a collection of scatter terrain from various sources to make a graveyard for the tabletop. Now it's time for paint to touch these pieces and we'll see where it leads.
This is what most of the collection looked like before priming, there were some changes to the collection before I broke out the primer. The majority of the pieces are Reaper Bones things, but there are also a couple of resin bits and even a couple of olde GW headstones sprinkled throughout the set. Below is everything* based on primed up.
I decided to give the headstones and other pieces in this set a mix of colors through mainly dry brushing. There are plans for a slightly blue batch, a slightly yellow batch, maybe even greenish, and who knows what other madness lies ahead. The first color I decided to try out was a sort of cream color.
This big fallen head was meant to be a scenic base (I think it's from Scibor, but I'm not certain of that), but I liked the head part too much to put a mini in front of it. I've had a crazy idea that perhaps the giant statue head IS the miniature on this base. So he can move around as a monster for special scenarios. However he'll be used, I like how he came out.
Then we have one of the Reaper Bones pieces, a knightly lady as a pillar.
There is no real plan for the next steps of the Graveyard Project. It's mainly going to be a few extra layers of drybrush followed by a dark wash-- pretty simple. I just came across the blues I want to use, so perhaps that will be the next test...
