Techwizards for Twinday 2025
As usual, I managed to get a pair of miniatures painted up for my shared birthday. This time was a couple of Techno Wizards using parts mainly from the Frostgrave Wizards 1 and 2 kits.
The female was built first. She got a fancy high-tech hat made froma Greek shield from one of the old Wargames Factory kits. Various bits were added- some wires in the back, a dangly thing on the left front, and a 'fin' for the back. For her colors, the teal-ish color of her coat sort of blends in with the light blue of her undershirt. I need to quit trying to pair these two colors.
For her magic wand, the tip got my favorite ancient Partha Paint, neon green. She's getting ready to let loose some green magic blasts.
The male was built more recently, after I got the Stargrave Automatons. The Automaton kit has several right and left arms that are designed to hold the barrel of one of the gun opposite arms. When I saw this arm I decided it could be paired with one of the wizard casting arms to make it look like he's winding up a spell of some sort. Is he gathering a cloud of nanobots? Perhaps he's collecting some elements in the air to build a fireball? Whatever it is, I like how the pose turned out.
His head is from the Perry Afghan kit, I'm running low on these heads. The technology bit sticking out of his back is a #D printed plasma weapon thing that I like to use dor cyborg conversions. The staff sticking out of the grating in the floor is from a Victoria Miniatures figure that I got in one of the Scrapper kits some time ago.
Now for some size comparisons. Above we have the Techno Wizards with a couple of the recently finished Automatons. Below, we've got the Twinday figures with Hansa Nairobi, from Beyond the Gates of Antares, and the ever-present GW Primaris Marine. And below that, there's a Monkey Miniatures guy and a Heresy Miniatures Trenchcoat Ganger.
